Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the website and football data API provided by TheStatsAPI (“we”, “our”, “us”) at thestatsapi.com (the “Service”).

By creating an account, generating an API key, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use the Service.

Please also review our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle your data and forms part of these Terms.

To use the Service you must create an account and provide a valid email address. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials and API key confidential.

Your API key is personal to your account. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your API key, whether or not authorised by you. If you believe your API key has been compromised, you must notify us immediately so it can be revoked and regenerated.

You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction, to use the Service.

Subject to your active subscription and these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and use the data provided through the API within your own applications and products.

You may not:

• Resell, sublicense, or otherwise commercially redistribute the raw data to third parties
• Redistribute or republish the data in bulk, in whole or in substantial part, as a standalone dataset, feed, or database
• Create a product or service that competes with the Service by re-offering our data as a data source or API
• Cache or store the data beyond what is reasonably necessary to operate your application
• Remove, obscure, or misrepresent the source of the data where attribution is required

You may display and use the data within your own end-user-facing applications, websites, and internal tools. If you are unsure whether your intended use is permitted, please contact us before building on top of the data.

Paid plans are billed in advance on a recurring basis (monthly or annually, depending on the plan you select). Payments are processed by our third-party payment providers; we do not store your raw card details.

Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period unless you cancel beforehand. You can cancel at any time from your account dashboard; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you will retain access until then.

We may change our pricing from time to time. Any price changes will apply from your next billing period, and we will give you reasonable notice in advance.

We offer a 14-day refund on paid plans. If you are not satisfied with the Service, you may request a full refund within 14 days of your initial purchase or renewal.

To request a refund, email [email protected] from the email address associated with your account. Approved refunds are returned to your original payment method, typically within 5–10 business days.

Refund requests made after the 14-day window are not eligible. We reserve the right to decline refunds in cases of evident abuse of this policy, such as repeated purchase-and-refund cycles or violations of these Terms.

We aim to keep the Service available and reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, upgrades, or factors outside our control.

We provide the data on an “as is” and “as available” basis. While we work hard to keep our data accurate and up to date, we do not warrant that it is complete, accurate, or fit for any particular purpose. You are responsible for validating the data for your use case.

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if you breach these Terms, fail to pay applicable fees, or use the Service in a way that risks harm to us or other users.

On termination, your right to access the Service and use the data ends immediately. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including data usage restrictions, intellectual property, and limitation of liability) will continue to apply.
